Dachshund Coffee – Business Profile & Ownership Story

Dachshund Coffee, established in August 2014, began as a vision brought to life by hospitality professionals Matt and Alex and their business partner Rob. Drawing from years of experience in the Sydney café scene, the founding team created a vibrant café space in the heart of Hunters Hill, known for its specialty coffee, locally sourced seasonal food, and dog-friendly charm. The café quickly became a community favourite, recognised for its consistency, attention to detail, and casual yet elevated approach to the all-day café experience.

A New Chapter – Ownership Transition in 2024

In 2024, the original owners transitioned out of the business, and Daniela—a seasoned hospitality professional with over 27 years of industry experience—took full ownership of Dachshund Coffee.

Daniela is a lifelong local from Gladesville and has always dreamt of owning a café that reflects her deep love for food, coffee, and genuine hospitality. With a hands-on approach and a heartfelt commitment to service, Daniela brings both passion and professionalism to every corner of the business. Her extensive background includes managing high-volume venues, curating customer experiences, and fostering loyal local communities.

Daniela’s Vision: Food with Heart, Coffee with Craft

Driven by a deep passion for both food and coffee, Daniela’s vision for Dachshund Coffee is simple but powerful: to create a space that feels familiar yet inspiring—where regulars feel at home and newcomers feel welcomed. She personally curates the weekly menu specials, launching fresh each Saturday, with seasonal ingredients, comfort flavours, and a focus on variety that keeps the experience exciting week to week.

As a proud Italian-Australian, Daniela is now gently weaving her Italian heritage into the evolving menu. Guests can expect to see the introduction of thoughtfully prepared Italian-inspired dishes, including rustic home-style cooking and café-friendly classics, all created with authenticity, freshness, and a sense of family tradition.
